No. Completing a Senior care needs survey (i.e., a survey of your specific needs) puts you under no obligation to purchase anything. The decision is entirely up to you as to whether you choose to engage any of our network service or product providers who respond to your Senior care needs survey.

Each eldercare provider specialty has its own standards of certification within its particular industry. California Home For Seniors requires all of its participating providers to maintain all required licenses, authorizations and insurance as needed to provide the services and/or products to consumers. Furthermore, each provider is at all times required to meet California Home For Seniors’s Provider Participation Standards and abide by California Home For Seniors’s Terms of Use. If California Home For Seniors learns that a provider has failed to continue to meet or abide by California Home For Seniors’s Provider Participation Standards or Terms of Use, the provider will be disqualified from continued participation in the California Home For Seniors program.

If there are no providers in the California Home For Seniors network that meet your requirements, we will promptly notify you. You will then have the option of either keeping your information in California Home For Seniors’s secure database or instructing us to permanently remove your information from our database. If you opt to have us maintain your information, we will notify you in the event that we expand the network at a later date to include providers that are right for your needs.

All participating providers are independent and not owned or controlled by California Home For Seniors. As such, customer satisfaction issues must be addressed with the individual provider or company to ensure you receive the appropriate level of attention and resolution to your issue. California Home For Seniors requires that participating providers have a published policy regarding customer dispute resolution. If you are unsatisfied with the response from one of our participating providers, let us know. If a provider demonstrates a pattern of unresolved customer satisfaction problems, they can be terminated from participating in the California Home For Seniors program.

California Home For Seniors receives its fees from participating providers, allowing us to provide you with a high-quality matching service that is available at no cost to you.

Assisted living is a long-term care option for elders who need a level of assistance higher than that of a retirement community, but not as extensive as a medical or nursing home or hospital. Assisted living facilities provide an independent lifestyle with customized assistance.

Assisted living communities offer a unique combination independent living and care. Unlike nursing homes and other medical facilities, assisted living facilities allow elders to maintain a sense of independence and involvement in a social community, while at the same time provide the assistance with daily life and peace of mind that comes with a professional support team.

Assisted Living communities are suited for residents who need assistance in their daily lives, including preparing their meals, facilitating transportation, maintaining their homes, assisting with hygiene, and managing their medication. Assisted living facilities are also good options for some residents living with disorders such as Alzheimer’s, as well as mobility limitations, incontinence, or other conditions common in one’s senior years.

Assisted Living Communities offer supplemental services such as round-the-clock care and supervision, a variety of meal services, and customized medical services fit for each senior’s needs.

Assisted living residencies vary in size, design, and accommodations and can range from high-rise apartment complexes to private and semi-private homes.

Typical amenities available in assisted living homes may include personal care assistance (bathing, toileting, dressing, eating), access to health care and medical services, on-site social and spiritual activities, recreation and exercise facilities, wellness programs, transportation arrangements, 24-hour security, laundry service, and housekeeping.

The cost of senior housing depends a lot on the range of services you want or need, but range typically from $1500 to $4000 on a monthly fee. Costs range depending on individual medical and personal care needs, as well as additional amenities desired.

Regulations and licensure requirements for assisted living facilities vary from state to state. It’s important to do your research to see if your state requires assisted living communities to be licensed, and if so, whether your residences of interest have complied. Also, many states require the administrator to be licensed or certified, so ask to see credentials, if applicable.

When making a major life decision such as choosing an assisted living community, it’s important to be an informed consumer. Be sure that as a resident you’ll be afforded respect, privacy, religious freedom, the right to voice grievances should they arise, maintenance of your personal finances, and control over health care decisions. Additionally, inquire about internal regulations regarding pets, alcohol, smoking, and other quality of life issues, to see if they correspond with your personal preferences.
